Thoughts and prayers needed!

I just got a call from a good friend of mine. She told me about a woman she had just been out to visit about a week ago. They went to a concert together. She just found out that her and her two boys have been in a bad car accident. They were hit from behind and the car wrapped around a tree. The mom and older boy came away with minor injuies but her six year old is in I.C.U. with severe head trama, and swelling in the brain. His name is Zachary Garside. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I will let you know any information as soon as I hear it. Thank you!

I hope he will be OK.

He's still in I.C.U. He has injuries to his lungs as well. The swelling is staying within a range they think they can manage. The next 24-48 hours are critical. They hope he won't have brain damage and will not loose his hearing in one of his ears. That's if he makes it. Thank you again for your help. I'll let you know more as I get info.

Thank you and keep up the good work. Just found out the swelling has gone down enough that they have taken him off the cranial pressure monitor. He's still on the ventilator and it looks like his ear drum was blown from the crash, but they think he will still be able to hear. Best of all he's showing signs that he wants to wake up.

Good news!! Many prayers from Texas..

As to the ear..My son was born with no left ear..bones frozen.no hearing at all,not much external ear..He playes gitar(MUCH better than I spell it),and is an ironworker,so didn't affect his balance..When he was 10,the Drs said he could have plastic surgery for apperence..He said "Why,it doesn't bother me.." Somehow,a very secure,positive kid..He's 35 now..

He's off the ventilator!!! He hasn't woke up yet. They did find a break in his wrist, but he seems to be fighting tooth and nail to recover. He's a strong little guy, and with all the wonderful people sending out their best wishes, I hope to be telling you that he's okay very soon. Thank you so much!!! Talk to you soon.

He's awake. All his tubes have been taken out. He's eating on his own. He's doing P.T. and seems to be coming along very well. The doctor think he will make a full recovery. In fact, he will be going home sometime this week. I want to thank everyone who kept him in their thoughts and prayers. It's so nice to know there are so many good people.
