Boone Carlyle
Boone Carlyle was a middle section survivor of Oceanic Flight 815 and was Shannon's stepbrother. He attempted to assume a semi-leadership role with the survivors but failed due to being rash and young, though he became Locke's apprentice when the two formed a close bond. Boone survived on the Island for 41 days before he died of injuries sustained in a fall whilst he tried to contact 'rescuers' from the drug smugglers' plane. According to Locke, Boone was a sacrifice the Island demanded.

Treebeard, please take this as constructive critism (and I do understand you are only 13), but it seems you have the most trouble with others. (and the others have the most trouble with you). Maybe instead of blaming everyone else, you should take a look at how you can make this site better. Now I know your knee-jerk reaction is going to be to be cross with me, but if you will think about it, you have it within you to fix why everyone is frustrated with you all the time.

Indeed, its a forum and forums ARE a controlled place. Just like outside the virtual environment there are rules and rules need to be enforced. Without it, it goes haywire. Double posts DO matter, even in a season break.

Eh? You're saying we're not consistent? Are you kidding me? Spam isnt tollerated in the summer either. We enforce the rules just the same during the season breaks as within the season. Sure, when LOST is on, theres more activity and more activity means more threads, more topics and more members. It needs more moderation.

There is no change.

It only looks messy if discussions about the same thing go on in different forums and different threads. Its easier to follow the discussion this way and keeps it nice and clean.
Look, we dont feel insulted at all, we created this place and worked real hard on it and we do like some constructive criticism (hence the feedback forum) but we wholeheartedly disagree with what your saying here. This is a forum that needs to be moderated. If you dont agree with that, go find a find a forum that doesnt. Although i dont think you'll find any.
If you do want to stay and dont want to run into trouble read the Forum Rules and Guidelines ( LOSTTalk.net - Announcements in Forum : Feedback) carefully, work with it and try to losen up a little.

What's messy is all the duplicated threads. Locking them is just a way to make sure there aren't four or five conversations going nowhere on the same topic. If the threads with the same topic are all kept together, then everyone can read all of the posts on that topic and together we might have an interesting discussion. Treebeard, if you want to keep things from looking "a bit messy" keep the threads together. That just makes sense.
As far as spam, I don't remember spam ever being tolerated the entire time I've been here. Why on earth should it be tolerated? It's inappropriate and ruins the friendly vibe. In the summer it was very difficult to keep conversation going because hardly anyone was posting. No that the numbers are back up again, it only makes sense that the admins would be more serious about enforcing the rules.
I have to say that the "Locke is my favorite character!" "No, Ben is waaay better!" conversations frustrate me. I don't have a whole lot of time to get caught up on posts and am annoyed to find I've spent time reading these things.
And Treebeard, enough with the persecution complex already! "A death wish"???--so melodramatic. Noone hates you.

I agree. Plus there's been many threads where people discuss their choice of this or that character in far more interesting ways than simply stating a personal like or dislike. The former seem to me to be more in character of a forum.
