I'm not a huge fan of Christmas, either. I can't stand all the commercialization and "spend spend spend" thinking that goes on. It seems so many people don't understand, or remember, that it's family and friends and togetherness that matters, not how much you spend, or how many gifts you buy.

/shrug

Now, New Year's Eve is a day for so much. The old year is dying, and the events and memories can never be repeated, but the new year is being born. The opportunity exists to make new memories, and the cycle continues.

Of course, maybe I like New Year's for the annual party that goes on at my house. This year is the 13th annual party at my house. A bunch of friends from college and work all get together and converge on my house. We eat, drink, play games, D&D, drink, eat some more, drink some more, play more games. Rinse, repeat. Some years it's kind of a reminiscing time, as we don't have the entire old crew with us, but we always have fun and enjoy the weekend. The party starts the day before New Year's Eve, and usually goes to the day after New Year's Day.

hehehehe

The first year we had the party in the new house, we had more alcohol than some bars I've been to. A case of Silly String, 5 water guns and more blasted jello shots than I think have been consumed in any one night. Ever. bwahahahah!!

I don’t like how everyone is obsessed and spends money on stupid lights and making their house look like ****. During the Christmas season people should decorate with holly, mistletoe, and trees. Not lights that cause thousand of fires every Christmas season every year.

And then poor people who hardly have enough to live off go spend money to buy their kids presents because their kids expect to get something. Parents shouldnt raise their kids like that.

Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. Did everyone forget that? People DO forget what Christmas is all about. It’s religious.

I am not a very religious person, thus I don't get all big on it, but even if I was, why blow it out to be something more than it is.

I also HATE it when atheist and almost every damn person in this country celebrate it when they aren’t in place to do that. They just want their damn presents because most people are self-centered and only care about themselves. Again, forgetting what it’s all about.

I am not talking about everyone obviously, but I think people here have ruined the specialty and missed a huge piece of this holiday.

Erm, lets not go into any anti-religious or anti-antireligious stuff please.

***It'll end up in tears***

Christmas= fun, who cares if you spend it's your problem not ours.
