Hugo "Hurley" Reyes

Hugo "Hurley" Reyes is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Hurley's father disappeared when he was at a young age for almost 17 years. Afterwards, Hurley suffered an eating-disorder and after a traumatic accident he was sent to a mental asylum when he started seeing an imaginary person. Ever since, he has changed and has been extremely concious of his sanity and how people view him. When Hurley won the lottery, he was not overjoyed, instead he was fearful that his life was going to change. Hurley is typically happy-go-lucky and keeps the spirits of his fellow survivors up. He has an eating disorder but has managed to overcome that with the help of Libby, and has even stuck to it after her death. He is also the voice of reason in the group, and uses his common sense to solve difficult situations. Ever since winning the lottery with the mysterious numbers, he has searched for an answer for the curse of bad luck that supposedly plagues him.

Default Did Sun lie?

Did Sun lie about there being another man? Yes, No?

I think yes, though the time frame is totally whacked.

I was highly undecided until the very end, but that last smile on her face makes me think she's telling the truth.

I think she's telling the truth. I'll admit that Her English teacher and her seemed to be a bit too friendly at the end there. And Jack hints that he thinks she has more to tell Jin than the fact she's expecting.
They have been on that island for almost two months. You can't tell me she would not have noticed something was wrong earlier, if she had cheated. Say when she missed her monthly visit from Aunt Flo.
It could be just like Locke's cure. Jin has been healed by what ever stange force heped Locke back on his feet.
To be fare My Honey, is convinced she Cheated.

I went with undecided. Wasn't the 'English teacher' the guy her mom tried to fix her up with before she met Jin?

I was believing her when she told him she had been faithful, but when they hugged, she had a pretty worried look on her face. I couldn't decide if she was worried because she lied, or because she wasn't sure about having a baby with him.

On the other hand, why would she tell him the truth about who was infertal. She could have just kept quiet about that and let him assume he was the father.

Once again, Lost keeps me guessing.

No, I don't think she was unfaithful. Given her Oriental upbringing and her personality that's been shown up to now, I don't think she would have had the nerve to cheat on Jin. I think she was concerned though that Jin would jump to that conclusion once he heard that fertility was his problem, not hers.

I think it's the island. Heck the baby may not even have a father, might be from an artificially fertilized egg thanks to nanobots (since that's what some people think is causing the black smoke monster).

Was she fateful, or just faithful, to Jin? I don't think she cheated. When would she have done so? Why would she, just when they were patching things up. I think Celt is right - the island might've cured Jin's impotence.

I still can't understand exactly why the fertility doctor lied...can someone explain that?

Thanks for agreeing but I thought Jin was infertile, not impotent. Impotence means a man who can't engage in the act and doesn't necessarily have anything to to with his sperm being viable for conception. Did I misread what Jin, Sun and the doctor were intimating? When one of them said something about having tried for a year, I presumed it was purely a fertility issue.

Either it was because he did actually fear Jin's reaction to the news or he's got an ulterior motive maybe connected to Dharma. We may never know.

I also think Sun was faithful to Jin. I think being in the U.S. where we
have almost no morals left and almost every T.V. show and movie
has all the characters sleeping with every other character, we tend
to forget there are people who are decent and some who actually feel that
extra-marital sex is wrong. I realize Sun was planning to escape from
Jin, but I don't think she would feel that gave her the right to just
hop in the sack with the first man who came along.
I think that worried looked on her face as she was hugging Jin was more
of a "OK, I guess we're doing this." That last happy smile really
convinced me that she is truly happy and has nothing to hide.

"Thanks for agreeing but I thought Jin was infertile, not impotent."

That's what I meant...infertile, not impotent. I don't think they have THAT problem...

If he'd been impotent i don't think he would've needed 2 months to find out the island's cured his problem
