Kate the Gemini

an early Season 1 episode (it may even be the pilot), Claire asks Kate if she's a Gemini, and Kate responds with a yes. Is this a subtle clue that Kate either (a) has a twin or (b) is a double agent for the "others"? Young age and sent to the island with Dharma?

There are more than a few posted theories on Dharma's experiments involving twins or clones for research purposes, the beginning of a new utopian society, etc. I thought I remember a few posts about some of the characters possibly having twins (Jack?). Such theories suggest that Kate has been on the Island before. But instead, could Kate have a twin living on the island? And with the interest in taking "special" children (i.e. Alex was taken from Danielle, a pregnant Claire was abducted, Walt was kidnapped), could this twin have been there from an early age? Is there a "good" Kate and a "bad" Kate ("Bad Twin")?

I thought of this after re-watching Season 1 and then watching Kate's dad in Wednesday's episode ("One of Them"). He was awfully sad when looking at the picture of a young Kate. Could that photo have been of her twin, who was separated from them at a yuth?

If the twins were separated at youth, why would he have a current picture?
That picture he was looking at was current at the time.
Maybe he was awfully sad because he was far away from his family.

I am going to start with a disclaimer that I think this theory is full of ****e!

What the photo made hin feel was sadness and what he missed, he does not carry a photo of both because the lostie Kate is the closest to both of them, the twin-Kate has the same features and many of the same traits as Lostie-Kate.

Why not represent both in one photo?

I don't like the "Kate's Dad is missing the other twin" theory, but I wouldn't be at all surprised at this point to find out that she had a twin that was somehow 'taken' at birth. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they all have missing twins that they aren't aware of.

I am now convinced that you post for the sake of posting.

No I post for the sake of getting ideas out, I think it has a valid point but not a perfect foundation.

I write for the fun of writing, whether it really pertains to a good idea for LOST or not.

It's an interesting theory I think atleast, why not get it out there?

Oh and also I am going for a Twin theme today, with the Goodtwin thread an all!
