Rose Nadler
Rose Nadler (née Henderson) is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. She was on the plane with her husband Bernard, but was separated for 48 days following the crash. Rose is a well-meaning, caring woman who was supposedly healed from her fatal illness after arriving on the island, similar to Locke.

Jack put the U.S. Marshall "out of his misery", after Sawyer shot him in the chest and collapsed his lung. Jack chose to save Boone and let Joanna drown (although Jack did say that he thought he would have time to go back and rescue her also)
Off the island, Jack did surgery on Mr. Busconi and he died on the operating table.

Well, as Queen said Jack put the U.S. Marshall "out of his misery" so that pretty much puts a big hole in a theory that Jack is unable to kill. But this did make me think about how much Jack changed during his time on the island.
And even though the gun that Jack was pointing at Locke was unloaded, Jack didn't know that. Jack pulled the trigger. This seems significant to me. Jack made a decision to kill Locke. And I know a lot of events lead up to this moment, not the least of which is the fact that Jack witnessed Locke throwing a knife in Naomi's back, which of course lead to her death. But when Jack pulls the trigger on Locke it is not a heat of the moment thing with Naomi's death. But Jack still pulls the trigger.
I am not so sure if pre-island Jack makes the same choice.

Which is why he and Sayid have the blood of those men on their hands. Those men could have been captured, considering that they were only planning to kidnap some of the women. Instead, Jack and Sayid deliberately planned their deaths.

killing someone to protect innocent women from being kidnapped and possibly killed is hardly murder.
