I liked Eko. I found his story-line and flashbacks interesting. He didn't deserve to die. They (the Producers) didn't have to get rid of so many of the tailies. Isn't Bernard the only one left.

I think technically Bernard was seated in the front of the plane, but because Charlie (who should have been a tailie) ran up to the front bathroom to get away from the flight attendants, Bernard had to go to the bathroom in the back of the plane.

I still believe (and time will tell) that where the people were seated aboard the plane had some kind of cosmic correlation with when/how they would die. For example. ALL the Tailies are now dead, except for Bernard who was seated in the FRONT of the plane but by coincidence was in the bathroom at the BACK when the crash was in progress.

Sure, this doesn't entirely work when applied to every 815'er (read Boone/Shannon) but I still think the tail section thing makes some kind of sick sense.

You know Lizard, I had that originally in my post - that all the Tailies are now dead, but then I remembered the kids, Zack and Emma - they were still alive and with Cindy the flight attendant. Now they could be dead, we don't know. I do agree with your theory though!

I'm almost certain the entire island (show) is one huge religious thing going on. All this science and time travel stuff is just side effects of the bigger stuff going on.

I 'd like to think that the universals are provided by scientific exploration whereas religions offer grand but nevertheless diverse readings. I don't think one encompasses the other by scale.

Because of the mysterious occurrences on the Island, and the varied predispositions of its inhabitants, many different religions and ideologies are explored in Lost. There are Men of Faith (but not solely religious faith) and there are Men of Science; There are Fatalists and there are Free-Willers; you have light and dark; good vs. evil; the absolute vs. the relative. And within those catagories you can have combinations that might come and go for the various characters.

Damon Lindelof: And one of the first things we talked about the very first time we came was… the sort of idea of the show dancing between the supernatural and actual science. And, as far as the island’s healing abilities, Locke’s ability to walk, and the fact that Rose was cured… and many other sort of island mysteries, we’re going to be… it’s going to get a little scientific this year, which will be fairly cool. We want to be able to bounce between those sorts of ideas, between reality and fiction. So hopefully, you will be satisfied.

Really? Bernard didn't have a seat next to his wife in the middle section? I thought there was a moment when Rose takes Jack's hand to calm her from the turbulence "just until my husband gets back from the bathroom"? Jack was on her left across the aisle and the seat to the right of Rose was empty then.

First off, as my name and sig would infer, I was a huge Eko fan. Still am, one of the reasons I want the Black Smoke explained is so I can find out if he is truly dead or if it ate his soul of something but I like a lot of us here, digress.

I think the balance between Locke and Eko was very good, for when the show was mainly centered on the beach and the Hatch. From a semi-professional standpoint (i'm a scriptwriting major), I think Eko had to die in order for Ben to take his place in the balance with Locke.

Meh, I miss Eko, and his massive amounts of heroine for Charlie.

I loved Ecko. That actor really contributed to the intensity of the tailies.
