I thought perhaps it was Jack dreaming... but then again, Christian says the same thing that Walt does, about having 'work to do'. It seems an awfully human thing to do as well, change from shoes into sneakers once emerging from a coffin, that's the first thing I would do. Funny, we don't see him move however, just standing next to some bushes, like jack seems to have seen him all the time.

Maybe the white sneakers mean he was part of Heaven's Gate and they really did make it to the spaceship on Hale Bop! Woah!--Where do I sign up?

Wow! I was not expecting that. All those things happening before Jack even woke up? I have a hunch Smokey took Christian's form, and that is why Christian was missing from the coffin just as Yemi's body was missing from the drug smuggling plane before he appeared to Eko.

That is an amazing catch about the "work to do" statement Cable. I don't understand what you mean in the end of your quote when you say "like jack seems to have seen him the whole time" A question: does anybody know if Christian was wearing the sneakers when Jack started seeing him on the beach?

Yes when Jack keeps seeing Christen he is wearing exactly the same thing right down to the white shoes!

Well, when Jack sees him the first few times, A- in water, so no foot shot, B-then behind some bushes and it's only a torso shot as well, the other times I'm not very clear in my memories of it.

I suppose Christian could have been wearing tennis shoes for his burial. I mean think about it, in all the funerals you've been to have you ever seen the deceased's feet?

I thought that myself, but what I noticed in the video darnzy, was how the camera was taking you through the view of Vincent, they made it a point to show you a suitcase that looks like it was rummaged through, perhaps Christain was looking for spare shoes. Perhaps he tried on a few pairs, and that's why we see abandoned sneakers later on in the pilot and in teh Paolo and Nikki epi.

They could have decided to show you the suitcase so you knew it was right after the wreck. But then again shoes do seem to pop up in weird places every once in a while. The shoe in the tree, was that the pilot episode or the nikki and paolo one.

My uncle Ricardo only had his feet left after an unfortunate aquarium incident. He couldn't be bothered to pay attention to the 'Don't feed the piranha!' warning sign. We bought him some Tony Llamas. It was a lovely ceremony.
