James Ford

James Ford, better known by the alias of "Sawyer", is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Sawyer's early life was ravaged by the con man who ultimately claimed both his parent's lives through conning them, instantly orphaning him. As a child, he wrote a letter to this con man, hoping to deliver it to him in person one day. Sawyer set out to search for him, presumably after he left school, however he, himself, ultimately became a con man and became the man he was hunting, became Sawyer. Revenge plays a big part in Sawyer's life, starting with the real Sawyer. On the island, Sawyer has often used his abilities to con people to get his wishes, and keeps a stash of useful items with him. However, after the death of the real Sawyer, he has begun to rethink his ways and is slowly turning into a leader for the survivors.

He escaped from the captivity of the Others with Kate, and has formed a relationship with her.

It does seem unnecessary to say "Every living person" -- that alone is reason for me to keep it on the backburner of my brain as being potentially significant. Maybe it will connect with something later.

You have to admit, that word choice is EXTREMELY important in the show. Just one example I'm thinking of right now is the fact that in TtLG when Jack (carrying a staff--HELLO!!!) leads the Losties (aka: Israelites) to the radio tower, Naomi says to him something like "What did you do in the real world, before you became Moses?" That was only one word too, but it's not exactly a throwaway line, eh? More like a smack in the face telling audiences "Pay attention, Couchpotatoes! There are allusions being made here."

I'm with you, Wednighter, and am not going to start snidely dismissing anyone else's comments at this point or any time soon. You just don't know. And isn't it more interesting to hear what other people think, even if you disagree? Otherwise you may as well pull a chair up to a mirror and pontificate to your heart's content.

I really just think he meant every person, but for the drama of the sentence he said '"Every living person."

lol i love some of these replies.

Mad that you all laugh though this is lost after all, we have polar bears on tropical islands, killer black shadows, dead people appearing to their relatives, people who have left the island reappearing, voices with no actual person in the room speaking i can go on all night with the weirds and wonderfuls.

why would people who aren't actually living be any big shock lol
