Is Richard Leaving?

Is anyone worried that Richard Alpert is going to be a thing of the past this upcoming season now that I see Nestor Carbonell is going to be in that new CBS (different network) show "Cane" as Frank Duque? It worries me.

It's Jimmy Smits, please... that show will be shown the door by week three.

I saw the previews of that new show "Cane" and saw Richard too. But he seems too important to the story of Lost to just disappear unless he was killed off. Which makes me think,, Where was Richard in the season finale? Was he part of the other's team who went to the beach? I don't think so, Or was he with the rest of the other group that stayed behind (I presume), because he wasn't with Ben and Alex at the end. I'm sure his story isn't done yet... And besides most new shows do end up in the toilet after a few weeks anyway!!! - like Cablerunner said.

I like Richards character so if Nestor Carbonell is leaving the show I hope they answer some questions about his character before he leaves. Instead of just killing him off like they did with Tom.

Richard was leading the rest of the Others to "The Temple", on Ben's orders before he and Alex went to meet up with the Losties.

I heard in a pod cast or something like that they are having a hard time with Richards Character much like they did with Michaels since the actor does have other obligations.. Hoping they do more with Richards character as well, I thought he would prove to be an important roll!

as far as it seems, according to imdb.com it doesnt seem as though he will be leaving Lost, though however, I could be wrong, as to whereas he is only listed as for one eppy of Kane.

In the podcast from the 3rd anniversary of the plane crashing they said they are kinda putting Richard on hold until they can get him back on the show or something to that effect!
