I just read that the woman who plays Ben's mother is actually his wife in real life! How funny is that?!

Apparently, Michael Emerson put in that scene at the beginning of Season 3 where he has breakfast with Kate. It wasn't on the script, and made no sense. Since then, Mrs Emerson hung around the show set so much, they gave her a small part.

Yeah, I would do the same thing if my husband went out of his way to spend time with Evangeline Lilly.

One question, how was he able to campaign for that scene? It doesn't add much to the story, and I know from my limited experience with filmmaking that there are always things that have to be cut out. Deciding what to cut out can be pretty tough. Having to add stuff in at the last minute puts another fly in the proverbial ointment.

How much clout does Micheal Emerson have with producers? Is he an executive producer himself?

I read this in STAR magazine, next to the Clooney UFO connection, so I'm sure it's legit. I'm sure Emerson has tons of clout now, he's BEN LINUS, he could shoot you and store you in a mass grave, the producers must be wary of that.

I know that was pretty good. When i found out that it was his wife, i laughed.
