Do any of you out there think that Jack's wife had an affair with his father? Jack certainly thought so, though anyone broken hearted is necessarily not a very keen judge of reality... At first I thought the fact that Christian basically picked up Ana Lucia at the airport bar and then nicknamed her Sarah indicated that he had been in love with Sarah, that she ultimately spurned him for the dude at the nursery school, and that Christian pathetically wanted to relive it via Ana Lucia and also drown his sorrows in booze in Australia. After seeing "A Tale of Two Cities," however, it seems more like Christian had a sort of fatherly concern for Sarah. Maybe by naming Ana Lucia "Sarah" he recognized that she was troubled and wanted to help her in a way that he could not help either the real Sarah or Jack. What do y'all think?
