Locke has not grown on me since Season 1!

Ok so I have always had this hatred for Locke since season 1. At first I was like oh hes this weird old dude who is all spiritual and what not. But I have gradually begun to hate him. Last seaon with the whole rivalry between Locke and Jack, I was fully supportive of Jack, even though Jack has been getting a little mental as well. My fav line of Jack is when he says to Kate "We're gonna have a Locke problem" and its true, why is Locke always causing all these problems?! he wants to feel soooooo important, but hes not. The island doesn't need him and no one cares. Now this season hes even worse, blowing things up, destroying subs wth? I mean I thought I could feel bad for him about how he got in a wheel chair, but even with that I was like ok whatever I still can't stand him. Please tell me some of you guys feel the same way? lol

I feel that he is an intresting character and I do want to know where his story is leading... But as time has gone on I too do not like or trust him!

Yea at first I was like hes not so bad. But now my Locke hatred has grown and I feel like he will endanger anyone to get to what he wants. I mean Kate and Sayid were captured while Locke wanders off to find Ben. He didn't think twice to think hey maybe my friends aren't ok. His motives are very self-serving, because he now has this drive to feel important and gain control. Like his father controlled his life so much, even not being in it and now he will do anything to gain control, but at what cost?

Same as with Michael... Killing 2 in cold blood, and allowing 4 of our losties to be captured.. I don't trust Locke like I did in the beginning..

I like Locke ok. And as I have watched the show my feelings toward his character have gone up and down. Just like almost every other character on the show. (I have a couple that I hate and always have so I can see where your coming from.)

I like him because he makes mistakes. He is wise in a lot of ways, but he also is very easy to con at times. He has problems with authority and I can relate to him in this way. I think he takes responsibility for his actions, and is truly sorry when he messes up, but he doesn't dwell on it. He moves forward. I see him as a searcher, he is looking for "it", he doesn't know what "it" is, but he is looking. I think he is a great character to deal with philosophical ideas.

This is why I said that I am still intrested very much in where his character is going.. I guess I should say after the last few episodes I don't like him as much... Still very intrested in his story though!

Yea his story is interesting and I guess you do need a complicated character like that. But now it almost seems like Desmond is the more complicated character who is more important to the island than Locke is. Its like Locke is so spiritual and almost wishes he had this sort of connection that Desmond now has and doesn't really want. The question now is, now that Locke's father appeared in Ben's magic box, how will this change Locke's behavior?

I liked him in season 1, but now he's just gotten too weird. I think you're right about Desmond and I wonder when some rivalry will start between Desmond and Locke. On the other hand, his whole back story is pretty interesting.

I can't say I hate Locke. I think he has something odd going on in his head that is making him do all these things. I have to wonder, three people where in the Swan when it blew. Eko is dead. As far as we know he is the only Lostie to actually talk to Smokey. With fatal results. Desi now has the power to see flashes of the future. Could Locke have some knowledge or power that has not been revealed? I hope so because if not, he may just have gone over the deep end.

Ok this past episode has made me hate Locke even more. Oh don't worry Kate I tried to tell them you are a good person and then they told me all you did. Its like what are you a saint? He thinks he is so above everyone. I was literally screaming at my tv you are so selfish Locke I hate you! lol He's not special and now hes going off with the others to do what, find his destiny? yea right hes just going to be manipulated by ben as he betrays all of his friends. John Locke is out for John Locke and John Locke only. grrrrrr sorry I had to vent lol
