Dr. Mark Wickmund

I would like to say how wierd this guy is...

1) He appears to have 2 aliases. (Dr.) Marvin Candle - In the Swan Orientation and (Dr.) Mark Wickmund - In the Pearl Orientation.

2) He appears to have a fake Left Arm in the 'Enter 77' video after Locke beating the chess game and in the Swan orientation Video too. But in the Pearl he doesn't appear to have a fake arm.

So .. what I want to know is why is he giving himself 2 names? and How has he ''LOST'' he left arm? if he has..

That may be one of the biggest questions of all. I've read many a theory on all kinds of forums, and one really far out there one is that Mark Wickman is an evil twin or Candle, or has been implanted with a new personality, and has grown his arm back, since the new personality hasan arm.

I'm mum on this little twist of Lost. there are plenty of characters in the show with missing limbs and eyes and what not, so you can assume he lost his arm in the purge, so Candle is the evil twin. I don't know, but it's a really great twist that Locke hasn't even mentioned, and he's the only one who has seen all three videos.

Who was it that lost their arm? Russo was talking about it on the way to "The Black Rock"... Before Ardzt blew up.. Why wasn't he on the poll to bring back?He had very useful knowlege,being a Science teacher and all..

I'd bring back that annoying arzt, and blow him up again.

I do believe Artz is coming back... and very soon. He's been photoshopped into the original crash scenes (apparently for a Nikki Paulo backstory).

Wow I feel dumb, I thought I was the only one that noticed the prosthetic arm accidentally and it meant nothing. Apparently I was horribly wrong.

Photoshop is for still printable images not video graphics. It's not a rendering 3D program but I get what your trying to say =0)
Sounds interesting nonetheless.

Where ever this Asian dude decided to film the oreintaion from could have significant meaning, it's location is not from the island. I remeber seeing exit signs in the background during the oreintation and I don't remember seeing any in none of the hatches or where the "others' work or live at. Can someone verify this?

I think this is a good point and I will rewatch this if someone can help me out and remind me which episode this was... The last or 2nd to last of season 1?
