Don't think catholics have that tradition, could be wrong but 40 days is all over the bible so it would seem that he would be religious in some way or another. I think him being a priest is very possible.

killed the two "others" who tried to take him. MaYbe he felt a little guilty even
though Libby assured him it was in self defense.
When AL asked him why he waited 40 days to talk he answered " You waited
40 days to cry" Maybe it was a spiritual journey for him. Monks and nuns often
take temporary vows of silence for reflection and prayer or contrition.
