Jin-Soo Kwon

Jin-Soo Kwon (Revised Romanization of Korean (RR): Gwon Jin-su, McCune-Reischauer (MR): Kwo(n Chin-su) is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Jin was born into a poor upbringing with his fisherman father which he has always been ashamed of. After meeting and in order to marry Sun, the love of his life, he was forced into working into his father-in-law's mafia-type business in which he takes part in horrid tasks. This has made him almost scared of what he is capable of. Due to this, he was over-controlling of Sun in their late-marriage stage. Jin is the only survivor to not speak the native language within the group - English. This has caused a constant language barrier but after Sun revealed she spoke English to the group, this helped him overcome this struggle and has managed to pick up disconnected words and phrases.

Question Sawyer's estimated age
I don't know Sawyer's real age, so if anyone has it, it'd save me time right now. But how I estimated his age was from
a) Kate telling him about the whole "America's Bicentennial" on the envelope in "Confidence Man"
b) The fact that he was 8/9 when his parents died
c) The fact that the plane crashed in '04
So I went and thought, "Hey, America's Bicentennial was 28 years ago when the plane crashed. So if Sawyer was 8 or 9 back 28 years ago, then that means he must be from 36-37..." Anyone help me with this? If I miscalculated, or if his real age was already revealed, just correct me then.

The only problem with that is, the creaters of Lost have said not to assume that the plane crashed in present time "04."

What?
I thought this issue was taken care of in the last episode. Can you please tell me where you heard that we shouldn't assume this is all in '04?

I thought the plane crashed September 22, 2004, like philly_breathes said, like Desmond said. You know, the system failure?

I heard that on this site. I don't recall of hand who posted the info but, I do remember reading that the creators of the show have said not to assume it was taking place in present time. If it's true that the printout shows the date then the info I got was not correct. It wouldn't be the first time I believed something that later turned out to be incorrect.

On guess I would say that Sawyer is 28 or older. (That didnt really mean anything, but still...)

the creators didi originally say not to assume that the plane crashed in '04. But that was before the season 2 finale.

Yeah. We won't know when the time is for sure, but why would they have it so far back as to '04? I dunno.
We'll find out.
And I'd say no older than 36.

As we learned in this last episode, Sawyer the character is 36. So that makes sense, and closes speculation. Thanks LOST writers.
