I think that "Henry Gale" called for the drop somehow on the computer. Obviously the computer has more than one function. Remember how the film said only to use the computer for entering the numbers? I think that "Henry Gale" put in a command on the computer. If he actually did enter the numbers, he must have already known the sequence. How could he have remembered the numbers after hearing them two or three times especially during such a time of panic? I think that the lockdown was to protect whoever is inside the hatch from the magnetism produced by the island. Maybe a magnetic field continuously surrounds the island, and it turns off only when supply drops are needed. The producers put "Henry" in control of the computer for a reason...
