So i was poking around another site that i look at from time to time, and ran across two interesting things. One is random, but the other has to do with my math question i asked a few posts back. The first:
This is a sound bite that someone has tried to render of a portion of the loud speaker we heard before the lockdown. The poster of this thinks he hearts "seventeen minutes to lockdown." I on the other hand think it says "seventeen seconds to lockdown." Although i can't hear whether it says minutes or seconds, i do know after is says lockdown, it gives a ten-zero countdown (not in the link provided). What are the ramifications of this if the voice IS saying minutes instead of seconds? Would lockdown imply something other than the blast doors? Something maybe on another part of the island? Thoughts?

The second post relates to my math question earlier. I get lost in some of the thoughts, but just some ideas. (posted by a member named phage)
"I would like to see the formulas/equations in more detail. Nobody has focused on them. More than likely they are BS because even the show numb3rs throws some BS in from time to time but the one I can actually make out (located top right) is definitely talking about magnetic fields due to current. The B with an arrow over top is refering to the B field vector (magnetic field). The mu nought (looks like a weird u with a subscript 0) is called the permeability constant (defined as exactly 4*pi*10^(-17)T*m/A). It looks like there's a pi with a subscript v which is senseless though. The rest of it doesn't make sense without seeing the whole thing. I don't know what the M vector would represent or what V is. Looks to be very close to the B field for a semi-infinite straight wire defined as B=mu_0*i/(4*pi*R). It's just the defined it in terms of M and V (the equation I wrote immediatly above is just one derivation from dB=mu_0/(4*pi)*i*ds*sin(theta)/r^2 and they derived it from something else). Again, if somebody could capture the whole thing I might be able to tell exactly. It is definitely refering to a magnetic field though.
At the top left of the first image in this post i can make out r*(sqrt(5)-1)/2 which the (sqrt(5)-1)/2 kind of like a significant number because it's part of Binets formula for Fibonacci numbers. Binet found a function to express the recurrance relation by Fibonacci for the reproduction of animals (i think it was rabbits). What is significant about it is it includes the irrational number sqrt(5) but somehow produces an integer.
www.mathworld.com has a lot of information on Binet's formula (just search Fibonacci).
As for the rest of it I can't really make it out the whole part that has the square roots of 16, 64, and 225 I think has been misread. People are saying sqrt(16)=4, sqrt(64)=8, and sqrt(225)=15 which is true but it looks like the sqrt line extends over the stuff to it's right too. So instead it would be sqrt(16*sqrt(64*sqrt(225)))."
Hope its okay to post outside thoughts. I tried to give them credit for their work...i'm taking no credit for anything but my personal insights in this post.
