There are some that believe that Dharma staged the sceen of the crash and, They may have been far more involved in the losties lives before the crash than we have been shown.
I do wonder about why they would be that involved and, not have taken the ones they wanted first, and then just let the remaining losties think the missing where lost to the ocean.
