Paulo
Paulo was one of the middle section survivors of Flight 815. Before the crash, he and Nikki Fernandez murdered Howard L. Zukerman and stole his diamonds. They spent most of their time on the island searching for these diamonds to the exclusion of almost everything else. A bite from a Medusa spider induced a death-like paralysis in Paulo. He subsequently died as a result of being buried alive while paralized.

I think that was straight out of the movie Saved with Jena Malone and Mandy Moore. A very clever and hilarious movie. Moore throws a Bible at Malone for not being Christian enough, and Malone responds "This is not a weapon." Worth seeing if you haven't already. Macauley Culkiin is in it too, and he's pretty good.

The only reason I will admit I've seen that movie is cause someone else did too.
How freaky was that scene? It seems like they would have a hard time adjusting to being in the normal world. Not cause they've been living on an island as much as they have been dealing with monsters, lying Others, getting kidnapped, etc. Everything on the island was about conflict and mistrust.

The heroin-packed statues were of Mary, not Jesus. But we did see the Reyes gold Jesus before. In the episode where Hurley is reunited with his father. It's on a spinning electric lazy susan in the middle of their dining room table when Tron and Lady Tron (LOL!) serve up hamburgers for dinner.

Well, Hurley's mom throws him a tropical island birthday party, so that should make the Oceanic 6 feel right at home! "My mom, she doesn't really get it." That was hilarious! So clueless.
I was kind of expecting Hurley's mom to eventually give Kate a big hug at the arrival in Hawaii. She's kind and she would have noticed that Kate was all alone. Oh well, poor Kate.
