Johnathan "John" Locke

Johnathan "John" Locke is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. His paralysis was immediately healed upon crashing on the Island, which has ultimately led him to believe he has some sort of special connection to the Island. He is sometimes shown in antithesis to Benjamin Linus, sharing several traits including the ability to commune with Jacob. Seen as antithetical to Jack Shephard, he and Jack are philosophical opposites and used to share leadership among the survivors, but now seems to be creating his own agenda for his actions on the Island and has broken off from the survivors.

I don't think buying some significant share from dad's company is going to make her the tough rival she thinks she'd be..

But it gives her some kind of control over her father's company, she's going to be sitting on the board and she's going to have as much say to what the company business is doing and finding out what the company been up to in the past. Maybe she'll find out that her father is in some of behind the scene business with Widmore.
All I can say you go girl.
Okay maybe I was corrected that Sun seems more happy and loving toward her mother than her father when they were first brought out to the family members.

Having a share is one thing, being in the business with the kind of experience and 'connections' her father has, is another. Sure Sun would use her executive initiative to make things difficult for Paik, but I doubt she fully recognizes how resourceful such dark people can be.

Kerkorian continues to try and own controlling shares of one of "The Big Three" (save those jokes for another thread), is he not in the same boat? or plane? (bad pun intended)

I think in the made up world of LOST the intent was not whether or not Sun had the balls to run a company with her father, but just to show that she had attained the courage on the island to do so.

The Paik corp. symbol looks just like the one on the Orchid maybe some of the equipment was made in Korea?? I feel like Whitmore and Paik had something to do with getting the losties on the island, and Sun will be the one you can get them back to the island in the end with some info she can get from daddy's company...

Doesn't it seem like a large sum of money for a setlement, to buy a controling interest in Paik? An airline would not have paid each of the survivors that kind of dough. Of course Oceanic may be owned by someone else who paid them off to keep quiet about everything, not just the crash.

Well Sun might of got more than the others because of the lost of her husband Jin. And they might be sticking with the made up story of the fake crash to protect those that are still on the island. Posibility that Widmore has some shares in Oceanic, Micheal might of told Jin and Sun about who sent the freighter. Sayid been on the freighter long enough he might of gotten information as well. And before getting off the island the Oceanic 6 might of been told about the "moving of the island" knowing Widmore and whomever might be in with him are looking for the island and if they stick to a story then Widmore might not realize they were on the island. Jack's mom looks like she knows more than she leading on and she might be trying to get from him what and where they had really been and she'll pass this on to Widmore if Jack gets to talking to her about anything.

Well there no monetary value has been discussed yet so, we really have no idea how much money Oceanic forked over for the settlement.

there's no way an settlement could have been even close enough to the amount of money needed to buy a controlling interest in a public company. that part kind of bothered me.

I like the someone else giving the money theory I dont think the writers think were that nieve. They showed that for a reason we will find out later i guess, I say Sun is going to be major part of getting back to tha island...
