Red and White

I have noticed these colors come up time and time again in the last two episodes. The back gammon set of young locke, and in emily's room.

black and white were the original theme colours popping up in the show all the time, representing good and evil. now red has entered the picture. red is representative of blood. meaning blood will spill. the war has begun.

The traditional Korean wedding dress is red, I think.

color symbolism is rather culture-specific, and LOST has been quite a multi-cultural show. I'd like to think some colors keep coming back either because they've proven to be solid choices for simple and effective graphics (like use of b&w for the opening ) or because they have a specific meaning around the story line of certain characters. I doubt they have fixed meanings or msgs for the entirety of the show.

Good catch Colma919! I really like your thoughts on this topic. I think color is very important in this show, and is also very overlooked.

I know what's black and white and red all over...
