I wonder if Sun could also be working for Ben, and he gave her some of the money.. Espically if Paik Industries and Whitmore have ties..

But seriously how much money would it take to buy a controlling interest in a major corporation like Paik Industries? Seems like that would have to be quite a settlement or... Hurley is involved?

Well like I posted she could be working for Ben.. Hurley did make it out to see Sun after she had the baby so maybe Hurley but didn't he give his lottery winnings to his parents?

Working for Ben is quite likely. The Oceanic 6 are who they are with Ben's blessing or by his choosing whether they know it or not.

So I'm watching the episode Expose' last night and I wondered if good old Sun didn't help herself to some of Nikki and Paulo's diamonds. There was quite a pile in her hand when she poored them out, and when Sawyer threw them in the grave, it looked like Sun had kept at least half the diamonds. (that would have been at least $4 million)

She would then have her settlement (and Jin's?) and the diamond money.

Big companies in the world take multiple BILLIONS of dollars to have a controlling interest in them. It has to be bigger than just diamond money and crash money from Sun/Jin, even death money from Jin.

I remember Hugo's financial guy telling him that through some wise investments the money had increased by some substantial percentage in a short period of time before Hugo said he wanted to get rid of all of it. Perhaps with Hugo gone for such a large period of time the money did REALLY well?

I simply can't see it being diamond/crash/death money though.

I agree that not only is the amount of money needed to have a controlling interest much more than combined settlements/diamonds or even Hurley could offer and that the writers could not think us that naive to think it would. If we are talking Billions (and we are) then there has to be something more to this or it's cheap soap opera quality writing.

I said it previously i dont think the writers are that stupid, with the writers stike im sure many scenes got left on the cutting room floor they left that for a reason "i hope" i yhink Sun is going to be major piece of the puzzle to get bact to the island..

Maybe we're overlooking Sun's mother she might of had some hand in helping Sun getting shares in the company.
