Paulo

Paulo was one of the middle section survivors of Flight 815. Before the crash, he and Nikki Fernandez murdered Howard L. Zukerman and stole his diamonds. They spent most of their time on the island searching for these diamonds to the exclusion of almost everything else. A bite from a Medusa spider induced a death-like paralysis in Paulo. He subsequently died as a result of being buried alive while paralized.

Default Floating Islands

All the talk of moving the island got me thinking about an island I remember hearing about (a fictional one - maybe lol) which was able to move around and so avoid being discovered. I had a quick look to see if I could find it on the net and found this instead on wikipedia.

"Laputa is a fictional place from the book Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift.
Laputa is a fictional flying island or rock with an adamantine base, that can be maneuvered by its inhabitants in any direction using magnetic levitation."

Maybe could explain how the island is able to be 'moved' given its extraordinary magnetic properties.

p.s I think it was Delos in Greek mythology I was thinking of.

Cool find, I think this has potential.

Wikipedia goes on to say:

The population of the island mainly consists of educated people, who are fond of mathematics, astronomy, music and technology, but fail to make practical use of their knowledge (the rest are their servants). They had mastered magnetic levitation and discovered the two moons of Mars (which in reality would not be discovered for another 150 years), but couldn't construct well-designed clothing or buildings - reason for this being that measurements are taken with instruments such as quadrants and a compass rather than with tapes. It is a male-dominated society; often, the wives of these men request to leave the island to visit the land below. However, these requests are almost never granted because the women never want to come back voluntarily.

Kind of Dharmaish?

When I read floating island I immediately thought of the comic book cover Richard Alpert showed to Kid Locke!

Reading that part about magnetic levitation sounds right on for the Lost island... there are unusual magnetic properties to the island, aren't there?
