Michael Really Is Unable To Die

People saying Michael's gun didn't fire because Tom switched it are now mistaken according to this episode. It seems Michael still has a lot of work to do.

I totally agree with you. I am actually starting to feel sorry for the guy. I have held a grudge every since he betrayed the losties..... but, he seems sincerely sorry and trying to make amends. He still has work to do, and a destiny that will dictate when he can or cannot die.

Maybe Widmore is also unable to die - when he asked Ben if he had come there to kill me, Ben said something like .... you know I can not do that".

What is the story of Kane and Able? Didn't Kane kill his brother and then was doomed to walk the earth for eternity? Perhaps that is the situation with Michael.

Cain and Abel were the children of Adam and Eve. Cain killed Abel. He wasn't doomed to wander the earth forever.

michael's destiny is tied to walts. all the leaders of the island have had no mother and a strained relationship with their father that drives them.

ben, mom died in childbirth, hated his dad
locke, given up by mom for adoption, hated his dad
walt, mom dies while he is young, barely knows his dad
aaron, given up by mom, abandonned by his dad before he was even born

so michael can't die yet because he still has to affect walt's development, IMO

Wait, so Cain lived a normal life span but the Lord marked him so no one could kill him, right?

I guess you could say that, Darnzy. We don't know much of what happened to Cain. We assume he lived a normal life span. It's not that no one could kill him just that if they did they would "suffer a sevenfold vengeance" (verse 15) Of course most scholars assume the story of Cain and Abel is figurative, not literal.

Getting back to the subject, I watched "cabin fever" again. Yet another loop hole for the gun not firing has come to my attention. After trying to shoot Micheal, Keamy hands his handgun to Captain Gault and says "fix my gun." Later on Keamy is loading weapons onto the helicopter when Gault confronts him with what I am assuming is Keamy's handgun and says "I fixed your gun"
Unfortunatley we never actually see if it fires properly, because Gault is killed by Keamy before he can fire back. Thoughts anyone?

Didn't Captain Gault fire Keamy gun just as Keamy was forcing the pilot to fly them back to the island? And had it pointed at Keamy until Gault seen whatever it was that was attach to Keamy and when Gault turn to ask what that was on Keamy and Keamy shot Gault. Then the pilot said we're flying after seeing Keamy take not only the doctor life but also the captain. Guess the pilot had already thought of a way to warn the losties when all this was taking place.
