OK - so he stays behind while Sayid goes back. And then Keamy goes all murderer-like on the boat. Might Des try to save the ship next week? I sure hope this means he doesn't die. Because he's my favorite character.

And I read an interview in the Washington Post and he said he read the script for the finale. I quote:

"I just read the season finale...and I am totally clueless how next season will pan out."

Q: What has been the biggest surprise for you (in terms of what has happened to Desmond) so far in Season 4?

Henry Ian Cusick: It's in the season finale...and it's a goodie!!!"

So what in the heck does THAT mean, Henry?!?

they wouldn't kill off Desmond (crossing my fingers)

A previous suggest the island becomes lost. This episode reveals that the island needs to be "moved". I believe Penny shows up on the island looking for Desmond and, out of range, Desmond sees the island vanish just as he receives a radio transmission from Penny.

Perhaps then he escapes somehow and then finds Charles Widmore. After some exposition they form an uneasy partnership with a common goal. Desmond is now pitted against former allies as the losties are now choosing sides.

Nah he's on the freighter with Micheal, not sure if anybody else is on there with them. Desmond doesn't want to go back to the island so maybe him and Micheal get the radio to work and they contact Penny or maybe they'll just take off with the freighter screw the bad guy their on their own now.

Maybe Charles Widmore has been calling Desmond a coward forever, preparing Desmond to save Widmore's boat. Maybe Desmond will have a sense of urgency knowing that it is owned by Charles, and that this is what he was meant to do.

That or else he is going to read his book and die.

Shrug.

I think it means that Penny and Desmond are reunited!

I love Desmond's character and I adore Desmond & Penny. They have to reunite before anything bad happens to him!
