Michael Dawson

Michael Dawson is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. He had parental issues with his son, Walt, but the two have bonded with their time on the island. Michael shot dead Ana-Lucia and Libby in order to release Ben from captivity; and ultimately caused the capture of Jack, Sawyer and Kate, when he made a deal with the Others. His whereabouts are currently unknown after he left the Island with his son Walt on a motor boat.

Jack's newspaper

Here's what I could find out about that newspaper Jack picks up. I have a baseball fanatic as a friend and they told me that specifically those scores in the paper tell them that those games happened on August 30th, 2007, so this scene would be on August 31st, 2007.

The paper announces the Yankees sweep of the Boston Red Sox, which places this flash forward at the end of August, 2007 (see comments below). The article is written by Gregg Bilson... this seems to be a fake article, and Gregg Bilson is the founder of Independent Studio Services, a company that produces props for the film and television industry - so perhaps a reference to that Gregg Bilson? Also, of interests, there is an email address in a blank space below the article. It looks like marvin.mancia@studiographics.us ... interesting, when you type in studiographics.us in your browser, you go to the ISS site affiliated with Gregg Bilson. Looks like some inside promotion (Bilson has also appeared as a brand of cigarettes in LOST). I don't see a Marvin Mancia listed on their site, but they do use the name MANCIA in some product samples
