I think Jack knew that his dad was going to visit him. That is why he was at his office so late. He figured since he saw him earlier in the waiting area, he will come back and they can talk but Dr. Stevens interrupted him.

in what way is that racist? if you read the casting call for Dr. Stevens it says they were looking a female in her late 30's or older. all i was saying was, being an older couple if they had a child then he or she would probably be around that age. what i said had nothing to do with her skin color or theirs.

But Bernard and Rose met and got married when they were already as old as they are now (I know this sounds mean, but I don't know how to put it otherwise^^) so I don't think they have kids. I don't know, but I don't think that Erika is going to be significant for the show..

That is the 1st thing I thought of when I saw that. It's a well known theory in the paranormal investigation field that "ghosts" need to draw energy from the surrounding area in order to manifest. This is why you will often have cases of cameras dying, flashlights running of juice out...etc.

I think Queenbeesteff had it right. The smoke monster set off the smoke detector. It's a visual gag and a clue. Many people here have surmised that the smoke monster can take any form it wants, and that when we saw the Christian on the island, the boar that was tormenting Sawyer, and Kate's horse that it was actually the smoke monster. Some have also speculated that Walt's appearances after he was taken from the raft are actually the smoke monster. I think that when Michael saw Libby in the hospital after his failed suicide attempt, that was also the smoke monster. So we've already seen the smoke monster take the form of Christian once (we think), and we've seen the smoke monster off the island (I think), so why not as Christian off the island.
