Kate Austen
Kate Austen is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Kate is a fugitive, and was being pursued by Marshal Mars prior to the flight, for blowing up her father. Kate had been captured in Australia and was being escorted back to the United States before the crash. Kate has always seemed to run away from her past. Even on the Island, Kate exhibits a kind of evasive behavior to escape from her problems. Kate, when on the run, always had good intentions and never did any outright harm or killings to anybody, she believed she was doing things for the greater benefit of others. This view is prominently connected with her actions of her father's murder - she believed she was relieving her mother from his abusive presence. Kate is strong-willed, useful and clever, but dislikes being alone and is usually level-headed.
She has escaped from the captivity of the Others with Sawyer, and has formed an ambiguous romantic relationship with him, despite still being unsure about her feelings for Jack.

Dr. Ray
I was puzzled from the moment I saw this scene of dead Dr. Ray on the beach. Why did he have stitches in his cheek? Whenever we have seen him, on the freighter, he had a scar on his cheek, but no stitches. Wouldn't the stitches imply that dead Dr. Ray is from before Sayid and Desmond went to the freighter?

That is mind boggling! I read about the same thing in "things I noticed" written by a guy name vozzek69 on DarkUfo.com. I couldn't even wrap my head around the explanation he was giving.
*re-read it*
Ok, now I'm not sure HE knows what he's talking about.

Hey darnzy! I really like that poster and usually read all of their stuff, but I haven't had a chance yet to read it. Is it worth it - you said you aren't sure he knows what he's talking about - do I bother? (Oh, I'll go read it, you know I will...lol!)
The other thing I noticed is the stitches seem really big (there are 4 of them). Aren't stitches usually smaller and closer together? And on freighter Dr. Ray, even though he has a stitchless scar on his cheek, he does not have any kind of scar across his throat.

WHAT IF!!!!!
What if (remember the blood splatter on the wall where Sayid/Desmond were bunking on the boat)... WHAT IF.... the Doctor some duplicated because of time travel, and they killed "one" of him?

Ew! I guess I assumed that splatter was from Brandon (r.i.p.) who snuck ashore with Minkowski. But, in reality, we don't know how Brandon ended up in the body bag. You could be right.
Quote:
|
Brandon was a crewman aboard the freighter Kahana. He and communications officer Minkowski left the freighter in the ship's tender in an attempt to tour the Island, but had to turn back when Brandon started "acting crazy". Although Brandon's exact fate is unknown, Minkowski said that Brandon is now "in a body bag". - Lostpedia

Ew! Well let's have a look - we'll see if all that time watching CSI has paid off! Ew! Yeah, it looks more gun shot-ish rather than knife-ish (I would think a knife wound would have left a more linear splatter).

Okay, now I am REALLY freaking out! Look at this! The first picture is of Dr. Ray from episode 4x05 "The Constant"--> no scar on Dr. Ray's cheek! The next picture is from episode 4x07 "Ji Yeon" --> healing scar on Dr. Ray's cheek! The last picture is from 4x09 "The Shape of Things To Come" and there is a scar still with stitches and the throat thing. What is going on here? Is time going backwards?
