Ha ha! I'm quoting myself! I am a goofball! But I STILL think the most important thing is that Ben used the word "changed" instead of "broke." "Change" allows the game to continue, "broke" would mean the game should end.

I agree it appears there is much more to Charles and Ben's past.. It sounds like they had an agreement but then Whitmore does not take the blame, so did he change the rules or did he never agree to anything so he could not change, break or anything else.. If Ben was under the impression that Alex was "safe" were they just illusions like he used on the island with Juliette.. Alex did say that Ben makes people think they are doing what they want but ultimatly they are doing what Ben wants them to do because he has made them think it was their idea in the first place.. Maybe this is what Ben has done with Charles in the past and that is why he thought Alex would not be killed..

Ok I'm not sure if that made any sense hopefully all these Lost fans can figure out what I mean here!

Just to reassure you, Ben tells Widmore he will kill Penny while he is in 2005 which means Penny is still alive in 2005 so we can assume she will survive at least up to that point. Time has a way of course correcting itself so Penny will survive up until the end of the series, well that is my opinion.

I think the "listed" people may have some sort of destiny that needs to be played out - None of them have died - Hurley - Jack - Kate - Saywer - ? was there someone else on that list?

Not all of the main Losties are on the list. Kate isn't. And at least one other, but I can't remember if it's Michael or Sayid. Other Losties we don't know about one way or the oher. We can't just assume they're on the list because they are main characters.

There are at least 2 lists: The list from Bea Klugh given to Michael in order to get his son back - James, Hurley, Jack, and Kate. Then there is a mysterious list Claire heard mentioned while under sedation in the Medical Hatch (with Ethan) where Tom says,"Jack wasn't even on his (or Jacob's) list."

That was exactly the moment I was wracking my brain to remember. When Tom says that Jack wasn't on the list. Thank you! I had no idea where to find it again.
