Default Sayid rats out Michael

I believe this is why Sayid ends up working for Ben in the future. He messed up Michael's plans, so now he has to take over for Michael.

yeh that surprised me..

but as I been saying Mike gets his chance for redemption

so MAYBE Sayid ruins it

Mike dies ..

then Sayid is fueled by the guilt and need to save his pals
and other stuff ... Sayid seems more highly evolved on the morality play ...
given he was a torturer

Yeah I think that's how Sayid begins working for Ben because outing Micheal. Cause Sayid beleives what the captain told them but once he realize he screw up he working for Ben. Don't think Ben knew that Sayid was going to be going to the Freighter.
Gonna be a long month to wait to see what happens next, but this episode did answer some questions.

Why in the hell did Sayid do that it seems so unlike his character?

like ben said, it was when sayid was ruled by his "heart" instead of his gun.

he felt badly for the women that michael killed and so he is getting his revenge on michael.

I think this is pretty in character for Sayid. He's a moral guy, and as far as he's concerned, Michael shot two of the Losties by making a deal with the original enemy...Ben. Sayid is good at honoring allegiances, and with Michael, he bailed on everyone else but his son. Now that he's partnered with Ben, Sayid's departure from the island to the freighter was for the benefit for every Lostie.

Seems like a conflict of motives between the two, but we know better. If Sayid needs to use Michael as a pawn to ruin Ben's plans to hopefully benefit Sayid and his friends, he will do that.

Albeit, it may not play out very well, but Sayid's intentions I think are honorable to those left behind.

You've got a good point there.

I have to agree. As far as Sayid knows the freighter is there for a rescue, and Michael is sabotaging the boat. He doesn't know what Ben or the three freighties on the island are saying. I wanted the captain to blow Michael away! (even thought he didn't seem surprised about Michael.
