but it's a flaw of logic to claim on one hand that we don't know if Witmore's good or bad and say on the other that Ben is evil. Sayid, Kate, Sawyer, even Hurley- all have lied for their own interests.. FFs show they will so in the future. The whole show's about twists showing how such judgments prove to be rather limited every time the viewer takes comfort in them.

And they lost him! Or he ran away- regardless he hasnt been around and it makes me sad/nervous. I still think Vincent never really survived the crash. And everytime we have seen him he has been a manifestation of the smoke monster. I am probably completely wrong, but I have thought this since the scene in which Jack, Charlie and Kate move out into the jungle to get the transceiver from the cockpit in "Pilot, Part 1", and they are watched by Vincent.
I always thought it was weird for the camera to focus on Vincent like that, and that it must mean something.

I have been wondering the same thing for a long time.. There is also that one missing pieces where Christen is on the island calls Vincent to go wake up his son.. He has work to do. I don't think your too far off here Folie a Deux... There is more to Vincent than just someones dog who crashed on the island.. If he has been smokey the whole time I am not sure but he has been important

Going from something I saw in Quantum Leap... Children and Animals can see things that the rest of us can't that could be why Vincent is being used on the island as well.. Maybe he can see spirits of the whispers (yea I know I am speculating here) or maybe he can even sense when "smokey is coming" if he isn't smokey the whole time..

Definatly think Vincent is important to the story in some way!

Well I don't know what all he gets into.. I know he had a thing for an arm once it had dharma keys on it.. The Dharma Van made Hurley happy so I guess that was good

Vincent became even more of a curiousity to me with the release of the mobisodes (lost pieces) "So it Begins" where we see Christian Shephard petting Vincent and then telling him to go find Jack. Whatever Jack's dad is he can physically touch Vincent, and apparently Vincent (who has never met Jack in his life - he was Walt's dog in Australia) knows who Jack is and can also find him in in the bamboo field.

And btw - why is Jack the only one in the bamboo, and how on earth did Jack not get skewered on the bamboo when he fell into, as Christian Shepherd put it, a bamboo forrest?

Well that's very curious- have never seen these mobisodes. I have always wondered how a dog would be able to get out of a locked cage in the cargo hold of a plane, where they keep 10+ pound dogs on flights. Very curious indeed...
