Desmond never met Michael? Or did he?

I can't remember. Michael killed AnaLucia and Libby the same day that Desmond arrived back on the island on the Elizabeth. So, did MIchael take off before Desmond had a chance to meet/see him? The reason I ask is because I'm wondering if only Sayid is shocked to see Michael again on the freighter or if Desmond is shocked too.

Some how they must have met, maybe when micheal was hit by that car in the first season!

Well Jack was with Sayid and Sawyer when they swam out to Des' boat, so Micheal and the group of Losties hadn't left yet for the Other's camp at that point. I don't remember Des and Micheal speaking at all. But Des was in a drunken state at the time, so maybe they did and he doesn't remember? He didn't seem to have a disgusted look on his face like Sayid did when they were introduced to "Kevin Johnson".

also remember even if desmond did meet michael he still wouldnt recognize him bc of the thing on the helicopter and his brain being messed up

really? i thought he just stopped having the out of body experiences into the past but does that mean that he suddenly remembers everyone that he couldnt remember before?

I think once he makes contact with Penny (his Constant) he is unstuck in time and back to as normal as Desmond is..

Desmond and Michael were both at the beach camp at the same time.

I don't think they had any significant scenes together, but I think it is reasonable to assume that they were aware of each other.

Desmond appeared offshore in his boat. The entire beach camp knew this and I think that would make it plausible that every single person there would recognize Desmond. Including Michael.

Desmond was mostly drunk during the days following his return and before Michael led Hurley, Jack, Kate, and Sawyer to the others camp so.... maybe Des doesn't recognize Michael.

I think he did, but I can see where he might not have.

Also I agree with Darnzy and Wednighter. Des has his memory back now. This was confirmed at the end of the Constant:

SAYID: I'm sorry. The power source went dead, it's all we have.

DESMOND: Thank you, Sayid. It was enough.

SAYID: Are you alright now?

DESMOND: Aye. I'm perfect.
