This is why I don't think Jin is dead.
HIGHLIGHT TO READ:
As far as the world is concerned everyone on Flight815 are dead, except of course the Oceanic 6. So it would make sense that Jin has a headstone as would everyone else who is not part of the Oceanic 6, and Sun visits the grave because it is her only connection to him even though he is still alive on the island. Also Hurly acts pretty non shalant about the whole thing supporting my theory of why Jin is not dead.

I doubt that Jin is dead as well, or if he is, he died later, but he may have HAD to stay so sun could leave and have the baby. She probably is calling Jin because she knows he's still alive out there somewhere.

Interesting, she would still be upset because she is alone and misses him... But doesn't Hurley say 'let's go see him' or something. Seems like they wouldn't even bother if he was still alive. If I had to guess I'd say he is dead but that is an interesting theory. I'm gonna have to watch this epi again.

I think he is still alive on the island. He said yesterday that he will do anything to protect Sun and their baby. So he must have had to stay behind for her to get to safety for some crazy reason.

I think he is dead. He said he would do any to protect her and the baby...I think there will be a battle between Ben and his Others and the people on the boat. The survivors(Jack's people) will be caught in the middle and slaughtered except for the Six. Locke's group remains on the island. In the flashforwards we see Ben, using Sayid still fighting with Widmore's group.

does anyone have the transcript of what she said at the grave? maybe there is a clue in there somewhere. why is she talking to his grave if he is still on the island?

This is my first post, so be kind!

I don't think Jin is dead because he was working for Mr. Paik and obviously wanted out. He would have stayed behind so he would not have to be involved the sorted work of Sun's father. But she would need to get off the island to safetly have the baby.

She talks to the grave because it is the closest thing she has to Jin at that moment in time. I think it's just a placeholder for her at this point.
