well, "i miss you" could go either way, i guess...he could be dead or still on the island

Jin is not dead, it said on the grave stone september 22. 2004 the day the plane crashed so he could still be on the island.

The date on the tombstone being date of the crash doesn't give us any clue to whether or not Jin is dead. None of them are talking about the island or anything and told the media that only six of them survived. It would make sense then that the date would remain the date of the crash to keep up with appearances. So that means either Sun is using the tombstone as place-holder to talk to him in her mind to keep herself sane, as other people have pointed out. I doubt Jin is in the ground there but her talking to his tombstone instead of a picture or other momento of Jin's is telling. If he was really alive still on the island it would be extremely morbid for Sun to talk to his grave. i.e. Have you ever went to a cemetery to talk to a spouse while they are on a tip somewhere or in a war or something? That would be extremely morbid. I doubt that is what Sun is doing. Jin is dead and I am sad.

That is because you were seeing Jin in the past and Sun in the future. There were three separate time frames referred to in the story. In chronological order it would be Jin's panda story, the story of Jin and Sun deciding to stay in Jack's camp, and finally the later story of Sun having her baby.

I feel that they did the jin thing to hold a place for that story so they can revisit it later in the series. I would like to know if Jin's flash was a "flash forward" or an actual "flash back" did anyone hear the flashback sound when it went to Jin in the toy store? Oh well and I feel Desmond is the one to die this Thursday! also if Jin is in fact dead, then does that mean that there is yet another member of the oceanic six to be revealed secretively? interesting! .....This is my first post. First of many!

I think he is proabably dead but... I am a bit suspicious about how ambiguous her words to him at the grave were. You could take all the stuff about "I miss you", !I wish you could have been there" "the doctor says I was calling for you" either way- dead or just not around i.e. still on the island.

But Jack did say at Kate's trial that there were 8 survivors but 2 died. I know everything he said to the court was a lie but I took him to mean that 8 of them attempted to leave the island. 2 of them died (Jin- possibly being one of them) and 6 are alive and successfully rescued- Kate, Aaron, Sayid, Hurley, Jack and Sun.

So I guess next week we find out who the other one was that died. I just hope it isn't Sawyer! Prob not as he was always so determined that he would stay behind. Possibly Desmond?
