Ji Yeon and Aaron - relative ages

Now I am confused. I had thought that "the world" thinks that Aaron is Kate's biological son, so there must be a world/island time difference for that to be plausible.

But now "the world" thinks Jin died in the crash, and Sun had his baby 9 months later. So we now know that island time must be roughly equal to time passed in the outside world.

So if Kate is rescued about 4 months after the crash, holding a 3 month old baby, everyone would know it is not hers. I guess we are to believe that they let her keep Claire's baby because it was "in the best interest" of the child, and everybody said that is what Claire wanted, etc.

Or it could theortically be her baby, born after the rescue, and she named him Aaron. But that seems highly unlikely.

Anyone think otherwise?

I think that since Kate has been a fugitive and off the radar for a while, she could easily claim that she was pregnant at the time of the crash and gave birth shortly after. Or she could even say that Aaron was born prior to the crash, that actually makes more sense. Since supposedly she saved everyone else from the water, couldn't do that if you were 8 or 9 months pregnant. So everyone (jack, hurley etc) says that Kate and her son Aaron were on the plane and survived the crash. Sun must've said she was already pregnant since Jin 'dies in the crash'. According to Juliet, Sun is either 3 weeks away from her second trimester which would make her 10 weeks pregnant in the epi last night (on island) or she is 3 weeks away from the middle of her second trimester. (Because Juliet told her most women made it that far before dying and then tells Jin that Sun has 3 weeks to live.) She was 8 weeks in the epi DOC, whichever day that was. I'm guessing Sun was 10 weeks last night. So her flashforward was at least 6 months in the future.

That does not seem plausible to me. Kate was a fugitive, leaving the country under arrest and in handcuffs. There would have been some processing and legal stuff going on before she got on that plane. Surely there are people at the airport and/or in the legal system that know she did not have a baby with her and was not 8 months pregnant when she got on the plane.

but we see aaron a long time after the rescue. There has been enough time after Kates arrest for there to a long arraignment, pre-trial, and trial. that takes a long time on complicated, high profile cases.

Right, her trial was a couple years after rescue, I have no problem with that. The point is, if Aaron is one of the O6, his age at time of rescue has to be explained. If he is a few months old at rescue, and island time is the same as world-time, he would have to be explained as Claire's baby.

So we are to believe that the courts would let Kate have custody, while she was waiting to be tried for murder?

I think that they said that durning the arrainment that Kate was free.. Durning the pretrial is when they took Kate into Cusody.. I think the woman who was watching Aaron in Eggtown was probably caring for him durning the time when Kate was in jail..

Remember Jack's story about 8 survivors but 2 die.. Could that be Claire and Jin?
