Nikki Fernandez

Nikki Fernandez was one of the middle section survivors from Flight 815 and is first introduced in "Further Instructions". She had spent most of her time on the island trying to recover the $8 million diamonds she and Paulo had stolen from Zukerman, her staged lover, before the crash. She received a Medusa spider bite that induced a deathlike paralysis and she died after being buried alive alongside Paulo.

Default Ben Staged the Wreckage?

So Ben staged the wreckage at the bottom of the Sunda Trench? Are we to trust Captian Gault? Does Ben have that kind of money? Does Ben have access to that many bodies? Yikes! That was a pretty important scene, "We're going to need to watch that again."

Interesting to note: At this point we are asking who staged the wreckage whereas before, at least myself, I was wondering how can both the wreckage and the survivors exist. I think you need to also consider the possibility that Widmore has staged the wreckage.
Also remember the message: Don't trust the captain.
Why would Widmore stage it? It seems Ben has motive enough, and possibly capability of pulling it off, but Widmore may have reason as well for covering up the crash of 815. Perhaps he learns of the crash, or even plans it, and immediatley begins covering it up by planting a fake plane, etc. This would keep the island off of the maps so he could learn how to exploit it unhindered by media and whatnot, and free to wage war on Ben and the others.
It is quite possible that Widmore is one of the original founders and investors of the island, and is trying to regain control after Ben's "revolution". Dropping a Boeing into this mess is a sure way to pick apart its inhabitants, especially if you hand-pick the passengers.

So Sayid and Desmond get a mysterious note that says "Don't trust the captain." Who slipped them the note? Michael? Did he even recognize Sayid and Desmond? Can we trust a note allegedly from a brainwashed Kevin Johnson? Who controls Kevin Johnson? Ben? Can we trust Ben?

I think I've just become very paranoid...............

i've said in another thread somewhere that i think the writing on the note looks decidedly childish. i believe walt wrote the note. whether he is physically on the freighter or just floating around somehow in his special walt way, i believe he wrote the note and also probably the one who opened the door for them cupla episodes back.

i think michael and sayid recognized each other and were just pretending not to for now.

the thing that struck me most about what the captain said was "how does someone go about getting 324 dead bodies" or something to that effect.

i don't think we have any evidence of "alternate realities". we've seen flashforward and flashbacks and time lapses...but not an alternative version of the present.

so...how DOES one come about 324 dead bodies?

I agree- at first I was certain the note was Walts because of the hand writing, but some grown men have bad hand-writing as well.

I wonder what the captain was refering to when he said it was even more disturbing how someone acquires said amount of bodies. Dharma bodies? They would be too old and decomposing now, right? 324 bodies...32 and 4 are numbers, thats all i got.

Yeah when I saw the note my first reaction was: Walt wrote it.
I was thinking "cool, Walt is Ben's man on the boat!!" But now I don't think Walt is even on the boat. He may appear on the boat at some point, but I don't think he is physically on the boat.

Don't trust the captain.
I think we have to go by that for now. The scene where the captain talks about the fake wreckage makes it clear that he is saying Ben is the master mind behind it. But if we can't trust what the captain says then.........

------------------------------------------------------------------
And yeah, Desmond and Sayid definitely recognized Michael and Michael definitely recognized them. I am not sure where these ideas of Mike being brainwashed are coming from. (I have seen several posts in several threads that say this)
Michael is undercover and using another name, but it is still Michael. He didn't want to walk down the hallway towards Des and Sayid, because he was afraid they would blow his cover. But you can tell by the way they looked at each other and everything that they all recognized each other and Michael was relived that they didn't give him away.

I think ben more than whitmore staged the crash whitmore has the money for sure but he did'nt know where the island was for sure or if the plane even crashed there, ben on the other hand has the survivers and the plane. We know he could leave the island and might have been able to get them off,but had no plans of doing that i think. so would'nt he be more inclined to do so..

I know that Sayid and Michael recognized eachother- but I dont believe that Des and Mike ever got to meet. Des took off after the computer broke (which Sayid fixed) and came back after Mike had taken off to the other camp. I think...

I don't think Michael and Des had any significant scenes together. But they were both in the beach camp at the same time.
Sayid and Jin/Sun used Desmond's boat while Jack, Hurley, Michael, Kate, and Sawyer headed towards the others camp.

So, yeah Des doesn't know much about Michael, but he does know him.

I believe Widmore and Paik combined have resources to fill the oceans with fake wreckages... and bodies as well. We saw last week Widmore personaly kick the crap out of one of Ben's spies right, who knows how many more people each man of power has killed himself.. I mean Paik sent Jin to 'talk' to a few people that we've seen in his limited flashbacks.

The problem I had with the epi is, and it should show that Widmore and Paik DID fake the wreckage, is why would the captain have the black box. Shouldn't the FAA or whatever Austrailian authority have that device? I think it shows that Widmore had to grab it, OR never put it in the downed plane so no one could find out where the wreckage really came form.
