It seems as if one of the O6 died, there would be people at the funeral. If not family, at least spectators trying to get a peek at the body of someone famous.
The casket could very possibly be Ben, which would explain why no one came, and why Jack was so upset. If he wanted to go back he probably thought his only way was through Ben and now that Ben is dead, it's nearly impossible. That would also explain Kate's disgusted reaction, since she obviously has no desire to go back to the island.

As far as Hurley's comment to Sun asking if anyone else was coming, it probably wasn't meant to be a huge clue. He could have been referring to one of the other O6 arriving, and giving a polite answer when she said no, or he could have been just joking around, since he IS Hurley and there's obviously no one else in the room with them.

Michael (aka Johnson) doesn't really have any friends right now, could be him.

Possible. However, I am hedging my bets that it is someone we haven't been introduced to yet.
