that was weird. Jin buying that Panda and all and then losing it and I was thinking there was some story about needing a Panda for the baby to be born or something weird, but I think that Panda's are just good luck for expectant mothers in Korea or something because that guy at the toy store is all like, oh, are you going to a maternity ward??? Anyone know what associations pandas have in Korea? And then after all that its for some exec. Crazy.
I tend to agree with above that for some reason there is a ruse going on and Jin might be still alive on the island, maybe hanging out with Locke or trying to esape his life as a henchman until the dust settles...

So here's the thing - on the right hand side of the picture are the dates 11-27-1974 and 9-22-2004. These would correspond to when Jin was born and, if he died in flight 815, the date of the crash. I do not know, as of yet, what the 3-20-1980 stands for, but I am looking into it. OH! I GOT IT!!!! Just like here in the U.S. when and husband and wife buy a tombstone together, the birth dates are put on it and then when one of the couple dies, the death date is then added. We do not know how old Sun is. It is possible that that is Sun's birthday!

The date on the tombstone is confusing, but I got the impression that Sun and Hurley really believe Jin to be dead. I think this because they actually went to the grave site. If he was still on the island or somewhere else and Sun knew this would she still have gone to the gravesite. Seems like if she knew he wasn't really dead she would only goto the grave to put on a show for somebody. But it was just Hurley there. Was she putting on a show for him? If so that could mean that Jin's part wasn't a flashback and he is off the island but back working for Paik?

Is it possible that this is the plot he will share with Sun? 1980 makes her a lot younger than I imagined but who knows? It seems like that could explain a third date, because it is their shared gravestone and her date of death will be added later. Is this something that is done? And do we believe that Sun could only be 24?

AAAAhhhh!!!! I went back in and edited my quote at the same time you quoted my old quote. We said the same thing! LOL! Great minds think alike.

I didn't think Jin is dead at all. Maybe I'm naive but I was assuming that he was in the hospital around the same time (if not on the very same day) that Sun gave birth. I think that he and Michael (aka: Kevin Johnson) have been brainwashed, like Ben did to Karl, but whoever did it to Michael and Jin did a much more thorough job.

I don't think that was Korean on the tombstone. Korean looks very different than other Asian languages. It has always been written left to right, rather than up and down. Also it has a lot of circles in it. It's really very pretty in a striking way. My roommate is Korean, so I see the writing all over the place. Is anyone out there Korean who can confirm or deny?

Well, Paik always kept Jin working long hours away from Sun. Making sure that Jin had time to be a good husband was not Paik's first priority. But, that said, I don't think it was a flashback either, at least not in the sense that a lot of you probably do. I think there were 2 alternate timelines going on in "Ji Yeon." That's what I think.

That's a good point. It probably was a flashback, though not from the same timeline where Jin is dead and Hurley visits Sun. I know, it doesn't make sense yet. I don't have it all worked out yet.
