It was a gift from Jin's boss, which is why this was a flashback.
At the end, when Sun was talking to Jin at his grave she said something like "the labor was hard on me, the doctors said that I was calling out to you." Either Jin really is dead, or he isn't and Sun thinks he is, or he isn't and Sun knows he isn't, but she also knows that he can't be with her.

Jin tombstone said 09-22-2004 and on the boat it was almost christmas 2004 any body see that ?

Also, Jin was on his way to the hospital / maternity ward prior to Sun getting to the hospital and the drs asking her who to call and her drug induced mind said, call Jin

The date was the the date of the plane crash do they are saying that he ided in the crash to cover for something; Paik or something that we have not seen yet. The same reason that Jack said that there were only 8 survivors on the stand at Kate's trial.

So, if Jin died in the crash, the either Aaron is the sixth of the Oceanic 6, or there is supposed to be another? Interesting episode this was, and sun asking for Jin the whole time, I guess to show how distraught she was.

. I'm starting to wonder if there is two time lines now. With Jack saying his father was upstairs (at the hospital) in Jacks flash forward ,the plane at the bottom of the ocean ect. It has me wondering ,If Jin ,in a differant alternitive time line didn't survive the crash,then the baby wasn't his. I'm soooo confused

This post is sort of random but interesting and could be helpful to some folks. I read an article this morning that said that Jin's flashback was happening in China and that was the biggest clue that what we were seeing was a trick. I was totally surprised to read this because I hadn't picked up on that at all. I went back over the beginning of the episode when he is buying the Panda and found that this author is completely wrong. The writing on the buildings is in Korean, he converses with the store clerk in Korean and pays in Korean currency. The confusion must have been because the grandfather of the baby born in Jin's flash was the Chinese ambassador to Korea. If anyone out there is spreading this China thing around, set them straight. There's no way it was China.

it seemed most logical to me, while watching, that the chinese ambassador was in korea ambassadorizing. I doubt Jin speaks any language other than korean, so I figured it had to be in korea.

the real question is "Is Sun now dating Hurley?"
lol. she has low sexual moral standards anyway, so shouldn't be a surprise.

The writers are doing a great job of throwing off people into thinking WAY to much about what happened on the show. You are being tricked!
