Birth Control?

Do you think they have birth control on the island? If I were Juliet and seeing women die all the time after becoming pregnant, I would not let Goodwin near me for fear I would have the same fate. I know that last season one of the Others consoled Juliet after one of the deaths saying, "it was her choice to get pregnant". I also remember Juliet saying something about sperm being like super sperm on the island. So, they got to have something!

even with birth control, there are "incidents". I don't want to call them accidents, because babies are so cute!!!

uh, but sometimes in the heat of the moment, people can forget to be careful. like in jurassic park when the chaos scientist says that life always finds a way.

I remember Ben giving a sweet dose of subliminal brain washing to Carl in some hatch back in Season 2 (was it rather the 3rd season?) . Karl was tied to his chair, shaking and drooling in front of the screen while there was loud drum'n bass playing at the background. Ben later explained that to Alex along the lines of protecting his daughter from getting pregnant.

It is odd that those like Juliette would not end up pregnant. Ben feared his daughter would become pregnant and so captured her boyfriend to keep this from happening. If it really is that easy to get pregnant on the island, you would assume someone like Juliette, who is essentially single and aware of the dangers of pregnancy, would do everything she could to keep from getting pregnant. Had she been pregnant with Goodwin's baby, there definitely would have been a Scarlet Letter thing going on (not to mention the imminent death). I wonder if they'll ever address this. Jin couldn't have a baby before and got his wife knocked up in a matter of weeks. All those Others who've lived there for years are able to "chose" whether or not to get pregnant. They must have some form of really great protection.

maybe they have lemon trees on the island.
the lemon peels can be used as a diaphragm and the residual lemon juice is spermicidal.

I'm a pharmacist. You learn these offbeat medical practices for when our society destroys itself and chaos ensues.

People did use this methods in days gone by.
It sure beats the egyptian method......
they used a mixture of various things including aligator dung.
