Bernard Nadler
Bernard Nadler is a tail section survivor of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 and the husband of Rose. He is the only tail section survivor that has not been killed, captured, or assimilated in to the Others. He wasn't seated in the tail section, and was only there when the plane crashed because he was using the bathroom then. Bernard cares very much for Rose and feels a need to fix things, like her cancer, not dissimilar to Jack.

She was probably 'dolled up' because this was her job and you should try to look nice at work, especially when you aren't doing your job too well.
Come on people, you are missing the point of the show and the episodes. Harper was combative to Juliette from the start, professional jealousy maybe.. who knows, it doesn't matter. What matters is that in every case we saw where someone appeared to another as a 'guide', it was someone helpful from the past. Christian/Jack, Eko/Yemi, Shannon/Walt, locke/Walt, Sawyer/a pig (LOL haha)... but you see my point. Now Juliette gets Harper as her guide? What is the meaning of that... these are the questions we need be answering. I'm guessing Ben used Harper to make Juliette feel bad and do what she was told, but who knows if it was even Ben who sent Harper

i don't think that a simple observation such as mine negates the deeper themes on the show. it's just that here, at losttalk, we talk about lost...EVERYTHING that has to do with lost, because we like to, and because we see meaning in everything, regardless of how trivial the observation seems. i think flaneuse understood my point best...

All that make-up and dressing was part of the routine of her pre-island life, and she was taking her stay on island mainly on professional grounds. As she realized she wasn't leaving any soon and the more 'personally involved' she became with island, her looks changed as well I guess.
Plus why bother with make up under tropic sun and showers, really

my sentiments exactly.
