Bernard Nadler

Bernard Nadler is a tail section survivor of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 and the husband of Rose. He is the only tail section survivor that has not been killed, captured, or assimilated in to the Others. He wasn't seated in the tail section, and was only there when the plane crashed because he was using the bathroom then. Bernard cares very much for Rose and feels a need to fix things, like her cancer, not dissimilar to Jack.

Default help...missed a couple of things

the channel i was watching cut into the episode when juliette and the therapist lady (harper? parker?) were sitting down. did i miss anything prior to that?

when juliette was on the beach with goodwin and they were talking about ben, goodwin was saying something, i missed it, then he said something to the effect of "one flick of the switch and..." anyway, if anyone can remember that conversation...because i missed it...

The gist of goodwin's remark was that Ben trusted him, because he assigned him to a job that - if done poorly - could result in the death of everyone on the island. So, assuring Juliet not to worry about Ben getting upset with him.

The first time Juliet met with the psychiatrist - I do not recall anything of significance.

Oh I just reread your post. From start until they sat down was only 15 seconds or so. Juliet was doodling in a minature sandbox that sat on the coffee table, the doc came in and introduced herself, that's all.

the sand box

"Zen Garden
Zen gardening helps clear the mind of the chaos associated with everyday life. The rocks represent mountains and the sand represents water. The patterns you create by raking the sand around the rocks will provide you with serenity. "

it's probably the opposite of the zen garden.

there's no serenity there!!!

as juliette said, it's very stressful being an other.

that line made me laugh.

I think its both Paradise and Caos

so the Zen garden rather rakes out the caos.

the beach scene with Julia and the hubby reminded me of 2 war related movies:

1. "On the BEACH "Stanley Kramer about the survivors of an atomic war.

:

2."From Here to Eternity "(1953)Directed by Fred Zinnemann. With Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Deborah Kerr.
the famous beach scene of them playing around before Pearl Harbor attack of 12/7/41
is from this movie.

Yeah its almost like the island is both a Zen Garden (everyones problems from the real world disappear) but at the same time, everyone is running around trying to kill each other and no one knows who to trust! haha
