Default screencaps of some of Daniel's notes

I made some screencaps of Daniel's notes in his notebook and on his chalkboard. The quality isn't the best. To tell the truth, I can't make much out of them myself. I'm posting them in case anyone else wants to see them, and in hope that someone with more than my hobbyist's interest in physics can make something out of them.

I hope they enhance your enjoyment.

Thanks, I was looking for the page with what seems like multiple suns.

By the way, his chalkboard drawings and the page that Aldo was reading in 'A brief History of Time' by Stephen Hawking are the same theories. Could this be a clue????

Wow. Good catch CableRunner. That was a while back. If someone could provide an episode reference, I'll grab a cap for comparison.

The first one is a tesseract.

Madeline L'Engle's novel A Wrinkle in Time uses tesseracts as a way for Meg Murry and her companions to travel to other planets and dimensions, however the description more closely matches a wormhole. Who was it? Sawyer? Was reading this book.

I just quickly leafed through my copy of ABHOT.
There are many fun diagrams, but I couldn't find anything that looked like Daniel's notes.

When Desmond visits Daniel at Oxford, just after the rat/maze, Daniel goes to the chalk board and erases some of his work. Before he does one can clearly see a reference to the Kerr Metric along with some equations.
A search of the Kerr Metric finds the following taken out of Wikipedia (although much information can be found through other sources). Other sources refer also to the Minkowski metric in relation to the Kerr metric
Kerr metric - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Excerpts from the Wikipedia Article;
The Kerr metric is an exact solution of the Einstein field equations of general relativity;
The Kerr metric is often used to describe rotating black holes, which exhibit even more exotic phenomena. Such black holes have two event horizons where the metric appears to have a singularity.
Kerr black holes as wormholes
………………...Since the trajectory of observers and particles in general relativity are described by time-like curves, it is possible for observers in this region to return to their past.
Also
The diagram on the black board is the same as the one in his journal although the journal diagram seems to have additional/possibly updated information. - from lost-foum poster dharmakharma
I found this, I thought it was interesting.

The matrices are very similar. Although it's fuzzy, I think Daniel's x-axis is labeled Real Time. I wish I could read the y-axis. I think the second word is Space, but I can't make out the first word. Axis definitions are of course arbitrary, but space on one and time on the other pretty much makes it the same matrix. I think you may be on to something.

The before-erasure chalkboard is very good. I wish I'd thought to grab a cap of it. No matter. Yours are clearer. Having reviewed the Kerr Metric, It's obvious that Daniel was playing with values in those very equations. This goes a long way towoard validating theories I've seen that there is a singluarty on/in the island. I have one clarification. I believe in the diagram with the right triangle and the arc, the x-axis is labled "speed", the y-axis is labled "real time" and the hypotenuse is labled "time interval".

Here's what I could find. Oh, it's from "Not In Portland."
