Johnathan "John" Locke

Johnathan "John" Locke is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. His paralysis was immediately healed upon crashing on the Island, which has ultimately led him to believe he has some sort of special connection to the Island. He is sometimes shown in antithesis to Benjamin Linus, sharing several traits including the ability to commune with Jacob. Seen as antithetical to Jack Shephard, he and Jack are philosophical opposites and used to share leadership among the survivors, but now seems to be creating his own agenda for his actions on the Island and has broken off from the survivors.

I was just thinking there could Christian [jacks father] be jacks constant because he is both on the island and from his past.

Also what about hurly with his imaginery friend that showed up on the island!!!

And Kate with the black horse!!!

Hey craze 7 that is cool, it could be why a lot of people on the island see weird stuff like sayid's cat or why Hurley sees dave. I don't really understand how he fits into all of this (dave I mean) but its strange all the same.

maybe that's why certain characters have died on the island. that they wouldn't have a constant.

I don't think anyone was suggesting that everyone on the island needs to have a "Constant". Only people who have been exposed to mass amounts of radiation and came to/left the island on the wrong vector. Those two things both had to happen for there to be side affects...at least the way I understood it.
So, Sayid for example, hasn't been exposed to radiation that we know of, so he didn't have the same problems that Des is having.

as far as we know, simply being on the island could be exposing them to radiation, or electro magnetic fields and des just has the worst side effects because he was near the blast core.

not necessarily to that extent as he was not near the blast core. hey, it's just a theory. and it looks kinda like swiss cheese!

Maybe that is why so little people get off the island. but what about charlie telling hurley about the people who still need him. (presumably on the island)
