James Ford

James Ford, better known by the alias of "Sawyer", is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Sawyer's early life was ravaged by the con man who ultimately claimed both his parent's lives through conning them, instantly orphaning him. As a child, he wrote a letter to this con man, hoping to deliver it to him in person one day. Sawyer set out to search for him, presumably after he left school, however he, himself, ultimately became a con man and became the man he was hunting, became Sawyer. Revenge plays a big part in Sawyer's life, starting with the real Sawyer. On the island, Sawyer has often used his abilities to con people to get his wishes, and keeps a stash of useful items with him. However, after the death of the real Sawyer, he has begun to rethink his ways and is slowly turning into a leader for the survivors.

He escaped from the captivity of the Others with Kate, and has formed a relationship with her.

I think it was Michael too. But then wouldnt it have been Michael who cut all their communications- maybe under Ben's orders, in an effort to protect the island which then almost hindered Des' ability to reach penny. Thank god Sayid is the MacGyver of the electronic world.

Minkowski did say "looks like you've got a friend on the boat" or something

The open doon reminded me of the open door to Jack's cell right before he saw Sawyer and Kate on the tv monitors.

all good points. maybe it was walt. he seems to pop up when someone needs a helping hand (locke).

maybe michael killed the electronics but walt opened the door.

Ben was prob behind the open door via his "man on the boat". He wanted Jack to leave his cell to see Sawyer and Kate. I'm sure he had his guy do something to keep the boat people away from the island.

when Minkowski start saying the radio equiptment had been destroyed by someone i thought he had done it him self, and thats why he was locked up!!!!

It seemed really obvious in a weird way that the script says "you must have a friend on this boat" Why would the writers be so blatantly obvious? We all Know Michael is gonna show up and it's not gonna be on another boat I'm thinking. It stuck me weird.

maybe he did it during a time lapse and didn't remember.

or he did it in the future and doesn't realize it yet.
