Black Rock Auction

So we have heard it from Darlton.
The Black Rock was a ship that dissapeared in the pacific. Alvar Hanso had put it up for auction (the picture) obviously adding connection there.
And Charles Widmore paid good money for it and the diary.

The Diary?
The key to Lost.

we also found out some of that info in the find815 game...about when the ship went missing and under what circumstances.

so the diary become's a treasure map

And "124 Cheyne Walk" was in the game too, remember?

I was psyched when that came up and I recognized it.

Penni says in this episode that she knows about the island which is no surprise. We've all suspected for quite a while that her father either put Desmond into the boat race to end up on the island or that he knew about it in some other way. Now it is confirmed that he was finding pieces to the mystery long before Desmond ends up there.

To make a connection between "The Constant" and "The Long Con" (one of my favorite episodes, can you tell??), Penny's father is a pretty good con-man, himself! Apparently, he got Desmond to think that entering the sailing race was his (Desmond's) idea. That's how you set up a long con; just ask Sawyer!

Yes.. nice catch Potpie. It seems Widmore knows every step for Desmond, though, why he gave him the address, that seemed out of character.

Widmore seems to be buying all things that would point to the islands existence, or how one may get there.

Penny was still raw from Desmond dumping her. Penny's father knew she would tell him to take a hike, which she did, but not before she gave Desmond her phone number, which Widmore didn't foresee.

When Desmond asks Whitmore why do you hate me?

What does Whitmore say? I don't hate you? or We don't hate you I couldn't tell what he said.. Was he refering to the fact at the time Penny hated him? Maybe he knew Des needed to have the constant and Penny was it already.. He knows about the island and I am sure he is why he makes it to the island..

I total missed the connections that you guys seem to all have gotten. I wouldn't be surprised if Penny's father is some how connected to Ben
