WOW! You are totally on to something! Desmond and Daniel even say as much in the classroom at Oxford. How will this impact the futures of everyone else on the island? Is it possible that because of changes there REALLY WERE ONLY 6 LOSTIES on the island? Wow. My head is spinning.

I'd made a theory on how Des needs to die. Maybe I was too harsh, maybe he just needed... the constant.

I also checked since I took it out of my sig to shorten it.. Penny writes the letter as he is leaving for prison..

"He" meaning David, Libby's husband? What does buying the Elizabeth have to do with the date the Black Rock arrived on the island? And do you think it's possible the Black Rock was "in limbo" for decades between when it went missing and when it landed on the island? That never occurred to me!

But according to Mrs. Hawking, certain events will still take place. If, for example, someone is meant to die - it might be bricks falling on you (but if that gets altered) it will be a car crash , or slipping in the shower and breaking your neck. This is the ulitmate question (42!) of the show - can you alter the valenzetti equation? Do you think Desmond and Faraday have been able too?

if des altered the original reason for going in the brig, i think he created another. by taking off and going to find penny i believe that will land him in the brig, or maybe he goes back and talks about his crazy experiences jumping time.

also, i believe they altered the future even tho faraday said that you could not change the future. after the events of the ep, faraday looks in his journal and i believe that he is looking for a new entry, something he didn't recognize before. when he finds the page where he wrote about des being his constant, he realizes that he did alter the future and the past. not only that but they had some control over it, by the discovery of the constant and it being successful in stopping them from short circuting their brains like eloise.

months back I laid out that Whidmore orchestrated Des's arrival on the island (proven) and even had Libby give him the boat to get there (soon to be proven).

The Auction scene - the items were being auctioned by a Tover (Tobar?) Hanso, not Alvar. Could be a new Hanso player in the game? Alvar's father? He wouldn't be alive at that time would he?

That episode just floored me!

If you rearrange "Tobar Hanso," you get "A Boat Shorn." The Black Rock, maybe?
