I dont think its been 3 years since she talked to charlie.
I think she's been looking for des for 3 years....since he disappeared while sailing.
this is why she was around to talk to charlie.

I wish I had tivo/DVR/a fast internet so I could watch it 15 more times!

There seems to be an awful lot of people on that freighter boat, including the doctor, Minkowsky, Regina (though we have not seen her), several tough guys, and originally Naomi, and the 4 helicopter people - Frank, Miles, Charlotte & Daniel. and the woman who answered the Secret radio call, and whoever is in charge of driving the boat (the captain?) And when Naomi landed on the island she jumped from another helicopter that then crashed into the ocean with at least one pilot. Who else is on that boat???

I thought the scenes between Desmond and Daniel (1996) were a bit Back to Futurish. But definitely a good episode.
