Ana-Lucia Cortez

Ana-Lucia Cortez was an ex-police officer who sat in the tail section of Flight 815 when it crashed. She took a leadership role in the group and led her party across the Island, reuniting them with the rest of the passengers. Ana was known to be very emotionally cold and her background in policing helped her with her leadership role. Ana-Lucia survived on the Island for 65 days before being shot and killed by Michael.

Default Kate's Home in L.A. S4E4 - Eggtown

To set the scene in question: When they show Kate's LA home it is complete covered with Tropical shrubs, flowers, ect. Now I understand it is warm in LA, but it was complete coverage of more like Hawaii. I understand they prob have to monitor how much they spend, but I think it goes more like this.
That the home was some sort of symbol for how she knows she needs to get back to the island, but cant. (Due to the fact she can not leave the state)
They has been numerous occasions where mult of characters have stated that they weren't sup to leave, and they want or need to go back. I think the writers would/could have found a better way of showing the house if it was not a symbol. I remember seeing in the HD episode (on the computer) saying it was a home in Hawaii somewhere.
Am I the only one who thinks this means something? I couldn't find any threads that had this theory, so I hope I am not repeating anything.
Could this be forshadowing Kate's need/want to go back to the island..

I think her responses to date in the flash-forwards demonstrate that deep down she does desperately want to go back like the rest of the 6, but I think she is in the deepest denial of all because of the circumstances (having a child and being "free" in the real world).

Put simply, she has the most to lose by going back.

Frank: No, the worst.

That is a good opinion. Thanks!

are you saying they could have picked a house with less tropical shrubs, but since they didn't, it means something?

I just thought is was beautifuly decorated in a very Hawaiian style, and didn't know is someone else might think it is some kind of forshadowing or Kate's inside missing the island. Only because so many people have mentioned needing or have to go back.

You know this definitely could be one of the intentions of the writers/producers. But more than that I think it just shows another example of the money that the oceanic six got from Oceanic Airlines (or whoever) as a settlement/payoff for the crash.

I am going purely on the idea that they don't show us something on lost unless it has some meaning.. It could be forshadowing and I agree with folie a deux that it could have been to show that Kate has money now.. Although they could have shown that by just the inside of the house if ya ask me.. lol

I just had to see what everyone else thought. Good point with that kind of money I could make my house look like the island too. I'm trying to and don't have that kind of money or climate. But at least I'm trying! LOL

That's cool, I think it is a good idea, and I also think that the writers/producers think about these kinda things. Just not sure if that was their intention or not.
